March in Motion: A Month of MOCs, Meetups & Momentum
March in Motion: Events, Creativity & MOC Madness
March has been a busy month for BuffaLUG, packed with community events, family-friendly activities, and a celebration of creativity through our ongoing MOC Madness series. From building with kids to connecting with fellow AFOLs, here’s a look at everything that’s been going on in our world of bricks.
Junior History Buffs at the Buffalo History Museum
We kicked off the weekend on Friday with a visit to the Buffalo History Museum, where we joined their Junior History Buffs program—a hands-on event designed for kids ages 4–9. BuffaLUG brought an interactive Great Ball Contraption (GBC) to the museum floor, introducing young builders to the magic of LEGO gears and motors.
It wasn’t just a display—it was an invitation to build. With plenty of bricks on hand and activities for all ages, kids and families got to experience both LEGO engineering and local history side-by-side. And yes... there was Circle Time.
Big thanks to the museum team and M&T Bank for making this free community event possible!
Block Party 2 at Walden Galleria
On Saturday, we returned to Walden Galleria Mall for our second BuffaLUG Block Party, a celebration of LEGO creativity open to all ages. Our club members showed off a wide range of builds—from fantasy and sci-fi to mosaics and habitats—while chatting with visitors and connecting with new fans throughout the day.
A special highlight came from our partnership with the LEGO Store, where Jonah hosted a bunny-themed Make & Take activity right at our display! Families gathered from 1:30–3:30pm to build and bring home their own LEGO creations.
As always, the Block Party was a space to inspire, share ideas, and celebrate the joy of building. Thanks to everyone who stopped by—we can’t wait to do it again!
March Monthly Meeting
On Monday night, we wrapped up the stretch with our March Monthly Meeting—a special gathering focused on MOC Madness. Members brought their own builds to share during Show & Tell, exchanged ideas, and connected over the shared excitement of seeing a new MOC spotlighted every day this month.
Whether large or small, finished or in progress, every MOC sparked conversation and inspiration. And with so many new builders in the room, it was a reminder of what makes this group so great: a shared love of LEGO and a commitment to encouraging creativity at every level.
MOC Madness Continues
Throughout March, we’ve been spotlighting at least one new MOC every day—and sometimes more—on our social media, celebrating everything from haunted houses and minifig habitats to nostalgic mosaics and pop culture tributes. The variety and creativity on display reflect the incredible range of talent within the BuffaLUG community.
We’re also sharing weekly recaps of all featured builds right here on our blog, so it’s easy to catch up if you’ve missed a few days.
With over two dozen creations already highlighted and more to come, MOC Madness continues to be one of our favorite ways to showcase what our members can do.
